U0168 Lost Communication With Vehicle Security Control Module (SKREEM/WCM) (In ORC/SRS Module)
U0168 code - When monitored this DTC with the ignition on, battery voltage between 10 and 16 volts, ignition Off Draw (IOD) fused installed, Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) is configured correctly. Set condition this DTC if the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) BUS messages not received from the Wireless Control Module (WCM) for approximately two to five seconds.
Possible causes U0168 code:
- CAN C Bus (+) circuit shorted to voltage
- CAN C Bus (-) circuit shorted to ground
- DTCa related to battery voltage, ignition, or VIN messages
- TIPM not configured correctly
- Wireless Control Module power and ground
- Wireless Control Module (WCM)
- Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC)
Diagnostic test U0168 code
Verify diagnostic trouble code is active
Make sure the IOD fuse is installed and battery voltage is between 10 and 16 volts before proceeding. Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool read ORC DTCs.
Is the U0168 code active?
Yes, refer to DTC in the site TIPM DTC and perform the U0168 code diagnostic procedure.
No, refer to Non DTC diagnostic in the site and perform the stored lost communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
