B2205 code - The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) will receive and monitor the VIN message from the PCM and record VIN if different from the last VIN.
Possible causes B2205 code :
- Incorrect VIN programmed PCM
- Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC)
Diagnostic test B2205 code
Step 1. Verify that DTC B2205
Make sure the battery is fully charged. Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool read ORC DTC.
Does the scan tool display active B2205 code?
Yes, go to step 2.
No, if the DTC is stored, check for an intermittent condition. Visually inspect the related wiring harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
Step 2. Check VIN in PCM
With the scan tool comapre the VIN that is programmed into the PCM to the VIN on the vehicle.
Does the VIN programmed into the PCM match the vehicle VIN?
Yes, turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12 volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. replaced the ORC module, perform the Airbag system verification.
No, perform the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with service information.
