P0112 Intake Air Temperature sensor 1 circuit low - The PCM detects that the IAT Sensor input voltage is below the minimum acceptable threshold. When monitored P0112 code with the ignition on, battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts. Default action the MIL Light will illuminate.
Possible causes P0112 code:
Step 2. IAT Sensor
Step 3. Check the IAT Signal circuit for a short to ground
Step 4. Check for the IAT Signal circuit shorted to the sensor ground circuit
Possible causes P0112 code:
- IAT Signal circuit shorted to ground.
- IAT Signal circuit shorted to the sensor ground.
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Diagnose code P0112-Intake Air Temperature sensor 1 circuit low
Step 1. Check for an active DTC
Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool, read DTC.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes, go to step 2.
No, perform the PCM intermittent condition.
Step 2. IAT Sensor
Turn the ignition off, disconnect the IAT Sensor harness connector. Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool, read DTC.
The '' P0113-Intake Air Temperature sensor 1 circuit high '' DTC should display as active or pending with the connector disconnected.
Does the scan tool display as discribed above?
Yes, verify that there is good pin to terminal contact in the Intake Air Temperature sensor and Powertrain Control Module connectors. If no problems were found in the connectors, replace the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor.
No, go to step 3.
Step 3. Check the IAT Signal circuit for a short to ground
Turn the ignition off, disconnect the IAT Sensor harness connector. Disconnect the PCM Harness connector, check for continuity between ground and the IAT Signal circuit at the Intake Air Temperature sensor harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the IAT Signal circuit ?
Yes, repair the IAT Signal circuit for a short to ground.
No, go to step 4.
Step 4. Check for the IAT Signal circuit shorted to the sensor ground circuit
Check for continuity between the IAT Signal circuit and the Sensor ground circuit at the IAT Sensor harness connector.
Is there continuity between the IAT Signal circuit and the sensor ground circuit?
Yes, repair the IAT Signal circuit for a short to the sensor ground circuit.
No, go to step 5.
