P2107 code - This diagnostic runs continuously with the engine running. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects an internal error. Default actions the ETC light flash and the MIL light illuminate.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
Diagnose and repair any other DTCs set in the PCM before proceeding with this test. An intermittent loss of power to the PCM without performing an ETC relearn procedure may cause this DTC to set.
Turn the ignition on, with the scan tool read DTCs and record on the repair order. Verify that the PCM is at the latest calibrated (flash level). If necessary, update the PCM in accordance with the service information.With the scan tool erase DTCs, start the engine and allow it to idle.
When the engine is operating, do not stand in direct line with the fan. Do not put your hands near the pulleys, belts, or fan. Don not wear loose clothing. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury or death.
Increase engine speed by pressing the accelerator pedal. Do not exceed 3500 rpm. With the scan tool read DTCs.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes, go to step 2.
No, test complete.
Step 2. Check related PCM and component connections
P2111 code - With the ignition on, the ETC motor self learn procedure has been completed. When the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects that the throttle body blade is not in the correct position for one second during the operating spring return test. Default actions the ETC light flash and the MIL light illuminate.

Turn the ignition on. The PCM tests the throttle body assembly by opening and closing the throttle body plate before starting the engine. With the scan tool read DTCs and record the repair order.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes, go to step 2
No, perform the PCM intermittent condition.
Step 2. Throttle Body assembly inspection
Turn the ignition off, remove the air cleaner assembly from the throttle body. Check for any signs of a foreign material (ice or dirt) in the throttle plate or in bore causing the throttle plate to stick. Inspect for any signs of cooking or a foreign material (ice or dirt) on the throttle plate or in the bore causing the throttle plate to stick. Turn the ignition on and the scan tool to actuate the throttle plate and check for any sticking.
Were any signs of foreign material or scoring of the throttle plate or bore found?
Yes, clean the throttle blade and bore if possible or replace the throttle body assembly.
No, go to step 3.
Step 3. Check the throttle body assembly
Disconnect the throttle body harness connector, check the connector for any corroded, pushed out, spread or damaged terminals.
Were any problems found?
Yes, perform the appropriate repair.
No, replace the throttle body assembly
