P0520 JEEP Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit

P0520 JEEP Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit - The oil pressure sensor is a silicon based sensing unit that measures the pressure of the engine oil. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) supplies a 5 volt reference and a ground to the sensor.

The input to the PCM occurs on the signal return circuit. The oil pressure sensor is a linear sensor, as pressure changes, voltage changes proportionately and returns a voltage signal to the PCM that oil pressure. Zero pressure is 0.5 volt and full scale is 4.5 volt.

Diagnosis DTC P0520 JEEP Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit

P0520 Stored in the PCM may be the result of a shorted oil pressure sensor. The voltage may appear within operating range when reading the oil pressure voltage using the scan tool and engine running.
